Use X-Mouse Button Control to customize your mouse buttons

X-Mouse Button Control (XMBC) is a free app for Windows that allows you to customize your mouse buttons. You can create application and window specific profiles and configure how your mouse buttons behave in each profile. Here’s how you can set it up.

Download and Install

Download and install the application from here.

Set middle click to open Task view

• Select the default profile
• Assign simulated keys Winkey + Tab to middle mouse button click.

Set scroll wheel to control volume

Select the system tray

• Add a new profile
• Choose Specific Window
• Click and drag the window finder icon to the system tray
• The window details will auto populate as shown in screenshot

Assign volume control actions

• Assign mouse buttons middle click, wheel up, wheel down to volume controls.
